Okay so when I first saw that people had been using this as a primer whilst reading a Buzzfeed atricle I was hesitant to believe it. So I did some digging myself and found that people have been using this as a primer for a good few years, this is because it's active ingredient is Dimethicone which is found in a lot of smoothing primers (like the Smashbox photo finish primer)

I'm always up for trying cheap alternatives (like the new favourite Nivea Post Shave Balm- I also wrote a post about that here) so I've given this a go- for £5.45 for 200ml it is extremely affordable and because it's primary use is a moisturiser the primer is an added bonus!

My first impression when I tried it on the back of my hand was that the texture of the product was very much like primers I've used before. When I tried it on my face it really smoothed out my skin and brightened it quite a lot. It's obviously very hydrating on the skin because it is a moisturiser- I have tried it with and without another moisturiser underneath and haven't found much different, so during the colder months when my skin needs more hydration I'll definitely use both.

One thing I did notice was that when I used this and then put a different primer on top it sort of fell off my skin? It sort of rolled up and looked like I had a weird skin disease, I did manage to get it sorted but it was a slight pain. So that is the only one negative thing  I have to say about the product. I've used this whilst my skin has been oily and I did notice that it helped combat some of the oiliness throughout the day.

I'm really loving this as a primer at the moment, so if you're looking for a new budget primer you'll be blown away by this one! I've also been using this on my body for it's intended use and it's amazing at that too!

Let me know if you've got any other unusual products you use for primers!!
