Christmas Wishlist

Untitled #15

Instead of doing Christmas Gift Guides which everyone else is doing (those have really helped me so if you've done one shout out to you because I'm awful at buying for people- men especially) I've decided to just show you what I've been thinking about asking for, I can then share this list with my family to give them ideas too!

1) Adidas Superstars- These were also on my birthday wishlist and they're back again! I really need a pair of simple trainers that can be worn with literally anything and I do think these are the perfect pair.

2) Makeup Geek Shadows- I am all about my shadows and it's well known that these beauties are some of the best you can get, plus they're affordable and now on

3) SkinnyDip Phone Case- To be quite honest there were so many phone cases on there and this was just a random one I picked out, I love them all (except for the glitter ones in liquid, only because of those stories about them leaking!) so I'd be happy to recieve any of their phone cases! My current on (from poundland might I add) is beautiful but falling apart so I could do with a new one.

4) H&M X Katy Perry Red Dress- This isn't on the website yet so I don't have a link but as soon as I saw this in the collection I knew I needed it. It's from Katy's collection so it's an obvious choice. It's so elegant and I think would be a perfect dress for NYE!

5) Amazon Tripod- I know nothing about tripods so I just picked the first one I saw! But I've recently got a new camera and I've been thinking about starting a YouTube channel.. let me know what you think! So if I do start one I'd definately need this!

6) Z Palette- I'm obviously going to need somewhere to store my makeup geek shadows (if I get any that is) and this is the obvious choice!

7) Nike Flex Running Shoes- I don't actually go to the gym or anything but I am working on getting my fitness levels better, my current trainers which are just a cheap pair from Tesco's are falling apart despite only wearing them to/from cheer and at competitions? So I desperately need some new ones and think these would do the job!

8) Morphe Brush Set- I've heard such amazing things everywhere about these brushes and this set seems to have all the basics I need in! It's affordable and you can never have too many brushes.

9) Soft Box Lights- I've had enough of not being able to take photos when I want, and if I do decide to start a channel these will be an absolute dream!

Last night was the launch of the latest bar to hit Norwich- Be At One is a chain of amazing cocktail bars, I've never been to any before but knew a cocktail bar was just what Norwich needed. Luckily myself, Hannah and Courteney were all invited to their Friends/Family&Industry opening night- although unfortunately Courteney couldn't make it.

When we first got there we were greeted by members of staff who pointed us in the direction of the bar and told us to wait there for Daisy who would show us to our table. I will say that it was so loud in there that they could probably do with turning it down just a notch (that makes me sound old) but I literally couldn't hear what the staff were saying to me.. It may just have been because it was launch night.

Once we got to the bar we were handed a book is what I shall call it completely filled with cocktails, I'm not much of a drinker and cocktails that actually taste like alcohol don't mix with me too well, so trying to choose was bloody difficult. In the end me and Hannah both went for one of their Top 10 Best Sellers- the Popster, it had Butterscotch Schnapps, Vanilla Ice Cream and Sweet & Salty Popcorn to top. Everybody needs to try this drink at least once. It literally doesn't even taste like alcohol (could be deadly) it was incredible and so perfect for when you just want a little something.

The prices are so reasonable too, ranging from £6-£10 which I think is ideal, if you download the app (type in Be At One in your app store) you get 2-4-1 cocktails and a happy hour activated by a member of staff for when you're in there!

There's loads of booths with tables for people to enjoy their time, smaller tables for smaller parties and just areas with a bar around to stand around. I do really like Be At One- it's so different to anything we've got already, which is excellent, it's got that certain sophistication that's missing from the rest of Prince Of Wales Rd (you'll know if you've ever been to Norwich) I kind of feel that I'm perhaps too young for it? I know that if me and my friends were to think about going somewhere for pre-drinks we probably wouldn't go there, mainly because it's that bit too posh and we'd ruin the calm vibe. That being said if me and Hayden fancied a few cocktails or I needed a nice bar to go to with excellent drinks for a meeting or whatever I would 100% choose there- it's nicer for a smaller party.

I'm going to go back either before Christmas or just after, but during the day and see what the atmosphere is like. I will say the only thing that put me off was the lack of light in there and the loud music- which could have been part of the fact it was opening night. So I will give it another go, the staff all deserve a medal too- they were so incredibly friendly and couldn't do more for you which is rare to find in a bar!

Back when the Velvet Teddy hype was real and I was a poor student (no change there) I found this amazing Rimmel Kate Moss dupe in 03. I've been meaning to give them both a side by side review for such a long time and I'm finally getting around to it.

Velvet Teddy is a matte finish which does dry out my lips quite badly if I don't wear a lip balm underneath. It's very long lasting, even more so when paired with a lip liner, I find it to last about 5-6 hours even when I'm eating and drinking. It's got a slight brown undertone which I love because nude lipsticks with pink undertones just wash me out and look awful on me. Because it is matte if your lips are even a slightly bit chapped I do find that it clings to the dry patches and just looks abit off really. So my advice to prevent that is use a lip scrub (like the one from lush) or use a soft toothbrush and just brush the dead skin off from your lips. For £15.50 it is more on the expensive side, especially for a nude lipstick (I prefer to splurge on my darker lipsticks) however it is definitely worth it as it lasts so long- in terms of it being on the lips and actually having it. It's so wearable that it's perfect for pretty much every occasion.

Rimmel London Kate Moss 03 has a slight satin finish, which does mean it doesn't last that long on the lips. I find that when I wear lipbalm underneath (pretty much all the time) it literally slides off of my lips in just over an hour, which considering it is only a £5.50 lipstick isn't that bad. I find this does have a more orange/pink undertone compared to Velvet Teddy- but then it still is very wearable for me.

When the lipsticks are swatched side by side (Velvet Teddy at the top) you can really see their similarities, you can also see how much more pigmented Velvet Teddy is compared to Rimmel. However if you are on a budget this is such a great alternative.

As these colder weeks draw in, my skin is really feeling it so I've been taking the extra steps with my skincare to keep it in shape over the next few months.

I start by removing my eye makeup with the Yves Rocher Soft Eye Makeup Remover* this is really gentle on the eyes and really does get the really tough mascara off without much hassle. I then cleanse my face with the Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser my makeup literally melts away and my skin feels so soft after.

To moisturise my face I use Weleda Wild Rose Night Cream* it's so rich and hydrating, it just sinks into my skin. Once I've run out of this I'm definitely going to pick up the full size as it's just so nice and smoothing on my skin. Keeping my lips hydrated and soft is my main goal all year round so there is never a lip balm far from my reach, I usually switch between Nivea and Palmers Cocoa Butter, at the moment I'm loving this Nivea Pearly Shine, it has a slight tint to it which means if I'm in a rush I just shove a bit of this on and I've got something on my lips. To finish my face skincare I use my Viridian Organic Rose Oil*, I love using this to finish my skincare as it leaves my face feeling so soft and even in the morning my face is so smooth. One thing I don't have is an eye cream- which I do really need to get, can anyone recommend any?

To finish up I use my Salcura BioSkin DermaSpray* on my body to lock in moisture as my legs especially get very dry during these colder months, so far this is doing fab at keeping my legs nice and smooth. I always have a hand cream in my bag and to finish my entire skincare routine I lather on this Derma V10 Hand Cream with Bees Wax* and give my hands a nice little massage and let the product just soak in.

Products marked with an * have been gifted to me, all opinions are my own and I am not being paid to use them.

Back in June I posted my first list of blogging goals, you can read that here. Because of how motivated it made me I've decided to assemble another list and I really hope to achieve these goals by the end of the year.

1) Get 450 Bloglovin followers. It has taken me soooooo long to hit 400 and I'm hoping I can get 450! If you don't already follow me there here's my link

2) Hit 100 likes on my Facebook page. I'm currently at 45- I will admit I don't try as hard with facebook as I do with say Instagram and Twitter, but I'm hoping that by simply inviting more of my family and friends to the page they can help spread the word on my page. Again to help me out like my page

3) Post more outfit posts. I really enjoy putting outfits together but I lack the confidence to actually get someone to photograph them for me, obviously this will be harder to do in the coming weeks as it gets darker and the weather gets worse but I really want to try and get some outfit posts out there! Another thing I struggle with is location, I know that I hate outfit photos taken in a back garden, so I just need to scout a few places that I like.

4) Get 1000 Instagram followers, I'm using this more than I ever have, posting at least once daily, I've even managed to get myself a theme going (never thought I would but I have yayyy) in the past few months I have gained a fair few followers so I don't see why the next 250 would be any harder to get! Follow me on insta here

5) Hit 2000 Twitter followers. My twitter following just keeps growing and it makes me so happy! In the past month I would say I've gained 100/150 followers? Which seems crazy! I do need another couple hundred but I can see me hitting 2000 in the very near future... (follow me here)

6) Comment on at least 5 different blogs daily- with 2 everyday being new blogs to me. I don't comment enough on any blogs and I always feel really bad for it- I either don't comment at all or will comment on every blog post I see for an entire day.

I will update in the new year about how I'm getting on- and I really hope I've achieved some of these goals!

First of, where has October gone? It seems like yesterday I was counting down the days until my birthday? I'm gutted that October is over but that means it's getting close to a month until my holiday!!!!

Skincare to start with and we've got Derma V10 Hand and Nail Cream with Bees Wax*- since the weather seems to have taken a drastic turn for the worse my hands have been needing some TLC and when I ran out of my Soap & Glory Hand Food I threw this straight in my handbag, I received this at the August NRWSummer event (read about that here) and only pulled it out this month and it is honestly so amazing- it's so thick and nourishing! It smells incredible too, I really have noticed my hands being a lot less dry and sore since using this which is all good.

Another skincare item I've been loving is the Salcura Bioskin DermaSpray* again I got this at the NRWSummer event. I love that this is a spray applicator, I just spritz on my body, rub in a voila all good to go! My legs go hideous in Autumn/Winter usually but with this they're already feeling incredible. The only bad thing with this product is that it's a tea tree scent- I'm not a huge fan of this scent as it just takes me back to having nits in first school haha.

My favourite thing about Autumn is that I can get away with wearing darker lipsticks during the day! One of my favourites this month has been one from Kiko, in their Intensively Lavish range. I love the shade of this, it's perfect for day and night wear and because it's got a satin finish it's perfect for these autumnal days because it doesn't dry my lips out!

I got this Nanshy Beauty Sponge* last week at the NRWBloggers Halloween Beauty Event (read about it here) and I've used it every day since then (hence the fact it looks abit gross, I'm sorry) it is so incredibly soft on my skin and dare I say it but I think I prefer it to my Real Techniques Complexion Perfection Sponge?

I got this Revlon Colour Stay Foundation for my birthday and have been completely obsessed with it ever since. I just love the coverage of it, the price is amazing considering what you actually get. I know that this is my new A/W foundation and as soon as I'm close to running out I'm going to pick up more! If you want a full review you can read that here

The last of my beauty favourites this month is a weird one, it's the Nivea Men Post Shave Balm used as a primer- if you haven't read why I love using it read it here and give it a go because it truly is incredible! I haven't touched my face with any other primer since I got this (sorry PoreFessional) and I won't until I run out.

Onto homeware, since I moved this month and I've got a much bigger room I've really made the effort to find new bits for my room. First up is this rose gold (yassss) tea light holder that Hayden bought me- I'm thinking of buying a few more to store my makeup brushes? As soon as I saw this I fell in love! It was only £3.50 which is amazing!! And it's just so pretty.

Secondly we've got this white wooden J which I bought from Ivy Joan at the Suffolk Blogger Meet, It fits in with the rest of my room so nicely, it was so reasonably priced and it's just so cute!! I really want/need a light up one to go with it but I do really love this!

This vanilla candle smells absolutely amazing!! I haven't burnt it yet because a) it looks too pretty and b) I wanted to wait until I moved. I don't know where it's from because I got it for my birthday but the quote on the front is so beautiful.

Lastly we've got this gorgeous 3 piece necklace from Tescos. I again got this for my birthday and it has not been off my neck since. Usually with necklaces I'll wear it for a couple weeks and that's it, but this has been going strong for nearly a month! The marble part is what pulled me to it (duh I am a blogger) but all of it is really beautiful.
