Pisa Day 1

Sunday, 30 August 2015

So last week I took Hayden to Pisa for a few days for an early 21st birthday present. We had literally the most amazing time and I'm so in love with this country and I just want to go right back! This is going to be a very photo heavy post I'm afraid..

We flew with RyanAir from Stansted and it was a pretty good flight, we were sat in exit seats so our leg room was perfect! We both also managed a little nap on during the flight which was a bonus because we'd been up since 3.30am...

Once we'd managed to find our hotel (Hotel La Pace) which is an amazing hotel by the way, it's right by the train and bus station, a 15 minute walk from The Leaning Tower and other tourist attractions. Everything in the hotel was so typically Tuscan and cute, the bed could probably do with an upgrade but it's cool. The staff went above and beyond to help us with everything we needed and I would so stay there again in the future!

Our first stop was this adorable cafe in between our hotel and the train station- I knew we needed to have pizza and this entire pizza which we split was only €5 which is ridicliously good! We then took a stroll towards the Leaning Tower and found some beautiful places throughout our walk.

Pisa basically has one street completely filled with shops and the first one I happened to see was Sephora, I knew I needed to pick something up as I didn't when I was in Italy in February, Then there was this beautiful H&M which had been restored into this modern looking shop but still had the original wall paintings and ceilings. There was then a small Kiko visit which I couldn't resist because it's one of the best places on earth okay.

Once we got to the Leaning Tower and Piazza dei Miracoli we turned into full tourists and I feel no shame in that at all, it was so much fun!

For our evening meal we went to one of the restaurants our hotel recommended, it was just across the street and they don't overcharge tourists, it felt like a proper typical Tuscan restaurant- we had spaghetti carbonara which was beyond amazing! When we got back to the hotel I literally crashed- it was only like 9.30pm but I'd been up for way too many hours...
